October Updates!

First off, today we will not be having Acteens because it's business meeting night. 

September went by really fast, we actually had sometime already planned for us every night so we didn't get to do anything that the national Acteens wanted us to do! haha  From business meeting, bedford house birthday ministry, state missions Bible study, to See You At The Pole youth rally, there just wasn't any time! But hopefully everyone had fun!

For October ( I also added the youth activities schedule as well):

9th:  Youth Skit @ Evening Worship (Come to youth at 5:30-stay till 8pm)
12th: Regular Acteens meeting
16th: Youth recognition for completing TLW @ Evening Worship 
19th: Regular Acteens meeting
21st: Freaky Friday at Northern--- we pass out candy to the kids. If you need at ride, let us know!
26th: Regular Acteens meeting
29th: Chili Supper/ Hayride:  Come to church that night in your costume! We have trick-or-trunk, games, and food! After the fest, the youth will be going on a haunted hayride!
31st: Passing out candy @ Subway's parking lot:  Come to subway before trick or treating starts. We will be passing out candy to a ton of kids, it's always a lot of fun!

When I say regular, here's what this month will probably consist of:  Bible study, Cyber-bullying research, Operation Christmas Child, getting things ready for Freaky Friday at Northern, and maybe decorating for the Chili Supper. 

Busy month in October!

Also, the first weekend in November is really important for youth, so I'll mention that as well:
There will be sometime of lock-in that weekend, maybe missions activity and a concert on Saturday, and then a youth led worship on that Sunday. You won't want to miss it!!

Bedford House

Tonight the Acteens will be going with the RA's and GA's to the Bedford house tonight!  Try to come if you can, we have a lot of birthdays to celebrate down there tonight!

Also, update:  Next Wednesday we will be going to the associational youth rally at Knoxville Baptist.  It starts there at 7:00pm.  We plan on leaving after we eat (around 6:20ish).

Sept Updates!

Hey everyone! First off, here's the video from this past Friday's scavenger hunt! There was over 50 people at the walk, and over 40 people at the lock-in! Crazy! It was a lot of fun! I think there's something coming up in November for the youth, so be on the look out for that!

Second, here's the line up for Acteens activities this month:

1) There will be no Acteens this Wednesday (the 7th) due to the monthly church business meeting. But don't forget to be looking for things about cyber bullying and praying about it! If you get any ideas, be sure to pass them along!

2) Sept 14: State Mission study. Acteens and the older boys will join together and learn about state missions! Don't want to miss it!

3) Sept 18th:  I'm not sure the time, I think it's 2pm.... WMU Missions Fest @ church. If you want to, you can just stay after morning church until the fest is over :) All the ladies, young and old, will present what their group is doing over the next year, and hear about what we all did last year. There will also be a display area in the back, so we need to work on a display before then! Also hear Devin speak about her trip to Peru, and myself speak about my summer in Brazil!

4) Sept 21st: Bedford House.  Acteens, GA's, and RA's will be going to the Bedford house in Falmouth to pass out birthday cards!

5) Sept 28th: Regular Acteens! We will finally get to do September's Bible Study and work a little on our project!

--Usually there is a thing at Northern Elem that we go and pass out candy, but we haven't heard the date yet. We'll let you know when we find out!

New school year!

Missions Camp has come and gone... and a new school year has already started! What a fast summer! I'm pretty sure everyone had a good time at camp. The focus was on learning what your personal talents might be, and how you can use them to glorify God. For some, maybe they didn't know how something like sports, or something as simple as drawing can play a big or small part into helping the Kingdom. You may think you aren't very significant and might not be doing "Big" things for God, but even the littlest thing is equaled to the big things in God's eyes.

As the school year has started... be looking forward to the Youth Group's lock-in on September 2nd. All youth and college kids are invited! There will be a special scavenger hunt through Falmouth beforehand! A little inside info: there's going to be some "special" characters roaming Falmouth that night... you won't want to miss it!!

We're also planning a special missions group lock-in for a later date. Donnie has some cool activities for us to participate in! And we will be fixing up the Acteens room in the middle of the night ;) Fun times!

Missions Camp.... Next week!

Next week is Missions Camp! Today is the last day to let us know you are coming!! You can get more info and the forms that you will need to turn in here at this link! Or, pick up a copy at church! Please let us know the talent that you choose to work on (there's a list on the info sheet) by Sunday.

Bedford House/Camp

This week we will be heading to the Bedford House to hand out birthday cards! Be sure to be there on time! Don't forget that Thursday is the last day to sign up for Camp!!

Hey, remember those t-shirts you could get if you finished the first part of the missionquests? Well, they will be here on this Wednesday! If you want your shirt, make sure you're up to date! :)

In other news, we will be working on that mission video! Hopefully we can get it done soon, and send in our work to nationals, and have them write about us!

We also have 7 acteens signed up for the Missions Retreat! Invite your friends! We have room for a few more! Also, start getting your talents ready for that weekend!

Missions Retreat 2011!

Happy Easter, the day Jesus arose from the grave! It is true! He was the lamb, and because of His sacrifice, we can be forever forgiven of our sins! 

Later on, before Jesus was taken up to Heaven, he told his disciples to "Go and make disciples of all nations..."

Join us at this summer's Missions Retreat where we can learn how to use our talents to glorify God. We'll get to listen to two different married international missionary couples experience (Africa & Brazil), and participate in missions yourself. We'll also have daily worship, Bible studies, and other activities to help you learn how to "Go". We'll also get to participate in ziplining, horses, ropes course, volleyball, hikes, frisbee golf, scavenger hunt, etc throughout the weekend! 

Please pre-register, even if you think you might be able to go for only a day! There is a link to the right to fill out the online form! Pre-registration is due May 1st, and it will help determine activities and costs. It's VERY important to get it filled out!! Invite a friend to come, too! After we collect all the pre-registrations, we will be able to get a cost set. But, don't let that cause you to back out! Let us know if you have any questions!! Thanks!!

April 20th- Bedford House

This past Wednesday, the Acteens traveled to the Bedford House along with the RA's and GA's. They delivered Easter bags to every resident that had an Easter magnet and booklet, and some candy.

The next week or so, the Acteens will be working on a Missions Video. They will be interviewing people in the church about mission work our church has done, and things they have done on their own.
